Our story
Sam's is a tribute to one of our local beer-brewing pioneers - Sam Forsyth. Sam had a vision for a friendly, casual bar where locals could enjoy pizza while enjoying his own range of beers made under the label - Ferris Road Brewery. He brought this to life and for some years Alexandra locals made this their hangout. Sometimes though, even great ideas come to an end and the bar closed in March 2024. A group of like-minded locals, pooled resources and on September 1st, 2024, Sam's Bar rose from the ashes of Ferris Road brewery. With a fresh look, new menu, a commitment to support local wines and a great range of tap beers - WE ARE BACK!
Our menu
We cook simple, honest wood-fired pizzas and breads. The bases and breads are made by our in-house baker and the food is assembled and cooked front of house where you can watch while you wait.
Our atmosphere
Sam's is an extension of your home - we love to see families at Sam's, even a well-behaved doggo is welcome.
The vibe is casual, fun, chilled - no flashing neon, no pounding music - find your inner Sam!
